Corrosion Resistance
MDW has a great deal of knowledge in this area particularly with recreational (outdoor) products made from a variety of steels. Our solutions have to pass very severe salt bath tests that would otherwise destroy current manufactured products in a matter of days. This may be an area of interest for small or even larger parts that are exposed to harsh or outdoor environments.
Hardening and Lubricity
Some of our solutions involve hardening metals often with the need to increase lubricity. This can be useful with parts that require constant lubrication. Applications of various technologies to accomplish these (and more) features can have profound effects on finished products at very low cost.
Micro Surface Treatments
The application of micro surface treatments (as small as .005 inch) can have a major affect on the efficiency, usability or accurancy of a recreational or medical product. Our experience working at the micro level comes directly from microprocessor fabrication where dimensions and tolerances are extremely small. Important performance gains can be had with the application of these treatments.
Thin Film Applications
There are many thin film materials that can both enhance performance and improve the visual appeal of products. We work with many CVD, PVD and DLC materials that can supply these functional and cosmetic performance enhancements. Since MDW has relationships with a variety of laboratories and vendors in the US and abroad we can provide a variety of solutions even with difficult to coat large parts.
Electronic Sensors and Wireless Communications
Through strategic relationships MDW has access to several world class manufacturers of electronic sensors. Currently engaged in development of several remote sensing applications, MDW can provide full service product development services for new sensor applications.
